Dry-mounting adheres your print to a rigid surface, which keeps it from waving or sagging inside a frame.

Professional quality acrylic protects the surface of your print while keeping your piece lightweight and easy to hang.

Your framed piece is finished with a backing and sturdy wire hanger. All that’s left for you to do is choose the perfect spot!

the process

Gathering
Vicki begins each piece by going for a walk around her own backyard. She’s truly in the moment while she's foraging, her eyes scanning every square inch of her surroundings. A fallen leaf goes into her bag, later it may become an eyebrow or dog’s ear. She picks up thin twigs hoping they’ll work as a cheekbone or chin. The possibilities seem endless!

Building
Once back in her studio, inspiration starts to flow. She lays down twigs to form a face. Sifting through rose petals, she’s in search of the perfect pair of lips. Next, being very careful not to sneeze, she uses a pair of tweezers to place the white petal of a German Statice as the finishing highlight in the eye. Nothing is adhered to her surface, so things are just balancing. She’s working against the clock as fresh elements begin to naturally wilt.

Documenting
When she has her piece exactly how she wants it, she carefully photographs the finished work, being careful not to bump the table and Mother Nature’s house of cards.

Recycling
The last, inevitable step is to say goodbye. Vicki wipes away her piece and recycles the elements back outside or saves them for use in a future creation!

Printing
While the original creation only lasts for a short time, the picture she takes allows us to make photographic prints of her work. So you can hang flowers on your wall, no water required!
